Dell Users: I have SigmaTel Audio and no Stereo Mix Option, how do I record audio?

If you own a Dell computer and are trying to record videos with the Reloader, you may need to update your audio drivers in order to record audio properly.

Let's check and see if you need new drivers:

In the Set Audio Input screen of the Reloader, if the first drop down menu contains the words SigmaTel Audio and the second drop down menu only has  "Line In" & Microphone, you'll need to update your Dell Audio Drivers.

Follow these instructions to update your drivers to be able to record audio:

1. Close the Reloader completely.
2. Download the new Dell Audio driver from: http://ftp.us.dell.com/audio/R171789.exe
3. Install the Dell Audio Driver by double clicking the R171789.exe file and running through the install process.
4. Restart your computer.
5. Start the Reloader.
6. Go to Tools > Settings > Recording > Set Audio Input
7. Select SigmaTel Audio in the first drop down menu.
8. Select Stereo Mix in the second drop down menu.

You will now be able to record videos with audio in the Reloader.  :)

Extra Notes:
If you have trouble installing the Audio Driver, you may need to follow the below instructions precisely.  Most if not all users will not have to perform the following in detail as simply running the R171789.exe file will do the trick.

1. Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled R167846.EXE.

2. The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or
unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R167846. Write down this path so the executable (I.e.Setup.exe) file can be found later.

3. The Self-Extractor window appears.

4. Click OK.

5. After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor
window is still open, close it.

6. Click the Start button and then click Run.

7. Type C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R167846 in the Open textbox and then click OK.

8. Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
